Who qualifies:
Must income-qualify
Must be uninsured or underinsured
Must own the lost property
Cannot own additional property
Lost property must have been primary residence
Must have lived in home for 5 years+
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
TIP:
You can live in an ADU with no other structure on your property until 2030, which could give you time to secure other financing to build a larger home.
ADUs can often be converted to single-family homes, making them an affordable option for those who need smaller footprints.
Consult your ADU manufacturer about that possibility.
National Organization of Minority Architects
The Southern California chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects has compiled a list of BIPOC architects who are available for fire rebuild services.
